About

Are you feeling stuck or yearning for a more balanced and meaningful life? As someone who has experienced a long and winding path — I feel you.

Throughout my career, I excelled in leadership roles at large companies and startups.

It wasn’t enough.

I then started my own business and created eight award-winning hot sauces. It was one of the best chapters in my life, yet I felt unfulfilled. I wanted a better quality of life, balance, meaning, and purpose.

I hired a coach to help get me unstuck — a decision that became a significant turning point in my life.

I chose coaching as my new work and began learning with the Co-Active Training Institute. Now I get to help people stop the things that hold them back and HATCH their best lives.

Testimonials

For years, I had been curious about life coaching. I wondered how it differed from psychotherapy, how it would support my growth, and where I could find a coach who clicked with me. I wondered if it was for me. Then, within the first 20 minutes of speaking with Coach Hatch, I found my answers, starting a relationship that has been a catalyst for my career pivot and personal development.

Early in our interactions, Coach Hatch helped me recognize my core values and showed me the importance of prioritizing what matters. As someone who tends to prioritize others’ needs at my own expense endlessly, this guidance has given me clarity and purpose. He understands modern life's stressors because he's been a parent, child, spouse, friend, business owner, entrepreneur, and employee. His experience across life’s many roles has added a relatable and human perspective to our challenges.

One of my challenges has always been with execution and follow-through—I had plenty of ideas but struggled to bring them to life. Coach Hatch's coaching simplified the process of turning ideas into actionable steps, making it less daunting. His advice improved my decision-making and reduced my tendency to overthink, taking a simple step forward.

The most valuable aspect of working with Coach Hatch has been his ability to see in me what I hadn't been able to see. He has shown me the potential and value within myself and my ideas. With his guidance, I am writing my next chapter more courageously and confidently. - Jonathan (Shelburne, VT)

1) It's about your experience. What impact did coaching have on your life?

"Being coached for the past 1+ years has launched me into more purposeful and intentional living. I have gotten to know myself in a far more profound way. I now intimately connect to my core values and can spot and shoo away the negatively charged inner voices much more rapidly than before I started coaching. Coaching has calmed and centered me. Thanks to my coaching experience, I have high-quality tools to help me navigate the choppiest of waters. Coaching is a must-have and a foundational anchor of my life going forward.

2) It's about change. What changes in your perspective or attitude occurred?

Coaching has given me the conviction to take measured risks and accelerate my path out of corporate work. I am braver and far more intentional in my thinking and actions. At the beginning of the year, I set goals that felt lofty at the time, and I achieved them! Coaching has awakened me to recognize the "people-pleasing" weight I've been carrying with close family members. This precious insight led me to discover the concept of self-preservation in these relationships, which I've embraced! With that has come an energy shift, lightness, and a different and healthier version of these relationships.

3) It's about our relationship. What about my style worked well for you?

Hatch has been a gift to me. He is the kindest and warmest human with a beautiful balance of nudges and bold questions to provoke the disruption of stagnated patterns and thoughts of "old stories." He is among my most dedicated evangelists/cheerleaders, and we've only known each other for just over a year! Hatch comes into every session well-prepared, deeply holding space for me as I navigate my journey. He is so connected to his clients, regularly recalling names of family members, past places you've worked, and things you may have mentioned once or twice months back. No matter what my energy was at the start of a session, the consistent power I felt at the end of each session was a recentered sense of momentum and optimism...always... every single time. One of Hatch's best assets as a coach for me is his extensive corporate experience, a true recognition of "walking in the shoes" of so many of his clients, including mine. This part of Hatch's coaching offering was so crucial for our partnership. He established credibility with me quickly because of our shared experience navigating corporate roles, stressors, and life." -Corey (Boston, MA)
"Coach Hatch helped me not only understand the meaning of fulfillment but helped me figure out what fulfilled me! Because of Coach Hatch's empowering words and guidance, I figured out what I wanted my next chapter to include. I am now on my way to becoming a certified holistic health coach!"
-Charlotte (Northport, NY)
"Andy helped me define my values. It was a breakthrough that has helped me evaluate professional and life situations in a new light with a focus on what is important to ME....vs. my prior perception of what should or is supposed to happen. Andy's coaching style helped me get back in the driver's seat of my career and stop burning energy on things and people who don't align with my values. I now enjoy my job for what it is...a journey....making the most of each step, and finding ways to make an impact."
-Greg (Arlington, VA)
"I started working with Coach Hatch, unsure if I would benefit; coaching was never something I had considered, and it proved to be an enriching experience! I found that working with a coach helped hone in on areas of my life that I wanted to improve, rather than constantly getting lost in all the noise and never making progress toward reaching them.
The benefits of coaching for me were having someone on my side looking out for my best interests, listening to me and talking about where I wanted to grow, and then helping me stop dancing around the idea and instead set a target and work to reach it.  Andy did not pressure me or keep me tied to a goal.  Rather, I wanted to meet my target to show myself and Coach Hatch that I could and will succeed.

In my time with Coach Hatch, I have come a long way, and it is all because of our ability to talk openly about what I want in life and then translate those wants into achievable goals, no matter what the focus may be."  -James (Portland, OR)
"I began working with Coach Hatch several months ago. At the time, I wasn’t actively seeking coaching and had no idea the benefits of it. Coach Hatch has played a tremendous role in my professional and personal growth.

He coached me through one of the most challenging times in my career. With Coach Hatch’s help and guidance, I was able to step out of my comfort zone and make a complete change in my career path. While I was nervous about such a big change, Coach Hatch was there every step of the way.

I’m beyond grateful for everything I’ve learned in my coaching sessions. Andy has taught me not just to think about my goals but to have the courage to go out and achieve them."  -Maggie (Boston, MA)
"Coach Hatch helped me take control of my saboteur. Instead of listening to negativity and doubt, I now search and find the positive. My personal life and career have benefited greatly from being empowered and coached to take control."  -Patrick (Brooklyn, NY)
"Since I started with Coach Hatch, I have brought up my coaching experience with several people. I usually start by saying that I never thought I would ever work with a Life Coach. I met Coach Hatch through a networking group I am a part of. He was a visitor, and I reached out to him afterward because his elevator pitch to the group gave me a good impression. During our first conversation, he put me through a couple of thought exercises. After explaining the difference between a coach and a therapist, I became very interested and considered working with him.

It is essential to state that Coach Hatch, or any coach for that matter, is not a miracle worker. He doesn't have a magic wand that turns his clients into more productive people. A lot of what he offers are necessary life skills. However, those basic skills were ones that I lacked. I wasn't getting the things in my life that I wanted to get done. My goals were just hobbies and interests with no plan; just a lot of things I liked to do...but never did. That has changed since my work with Coach Hatch began, and my life is fuller and more enjoyable.

I started my coaching with Coach Hatch in January 2020. Before that, I had values and principles that I lived by, but if you were to ask me what they were, I would have had a hard time telling them to you on the spot. Coach Hatch challenged me to list them and prioritize them on day one. Those helped me determine what was important and what I wanted to honor within myself. From there, we set some small, medium, large, and then some BHAG's (big hairy-ass goals!). Then something pretty cool things happened.

I started drawing. I started taking guitar lessons. I started reading. I started exercising. I started writing. I started doing unique things for my friends and family. I started working on my home. And for the things I didn't start doing, Coach Hatch would remind me about them, ask me what was stopping me and how he could support me. He helped me refocus my energy and attention on those things.  Again, he didn't use a magic wand. I am not always hitting all my goals and must be reminded and prodded from time to time. In other words, I need a coach to hold me accountable!
None of these things would have happened to the extent they did without my decision to work with Coach Hatch. I have not only accomplished more during this experience, but I have also changed the way I approach things. I have learned new skills, and I have a real sense of understanding around them. There is no way to "un-know" these things now.

Lastly, I have met someone I genuinely respect. Someone who inspires me to keep up with what I have started. A man whom I admire and look forward to connecting with. I have spent my life going it alone. My decision to finally ask for help was one of the best I have ever made."  -Aaron (Burlington, VT)
“'Everything in your life reflects a choice you have made. If you want a different result, make a different choice.' One of the best choices I made in 2020 was to partner with Andy Hatch as my Coach.  I was ready for a different result! I was stuck, and I knew that I couldn’t do this alone.  In the initial sessions, Coach Hatch helped me identify three personal and professional growth areas I wanted to focus on during our coaching relationship.  I made daily commitments to myself and set goals based on my values to create a joyful and satisfying life.
I learned to trust my inner voice on this new path and ignore the saboteurs and negative messages of insecurity and self-doubt. Most importantly, Coach’s empathy gave me the courage to be vulnerable and build a meaningful and honest relationship with an old friend.  Also, he supported my decision to pursue a different career path utilizing my transferrable skills in hospitality sales and customer service.
The insights that I gained from personal coaching have inspired me to maximize my personal and professional potential and 'live the life that I envision.'”  -Jan (Burlington, VT)
"2020 has not been easy! Nevertheless, over the past year, Coach Hatch has helped me level up my life. His laid-back, insightful, and dedicated approach to our coaching sessions has helped me hone the skill of being the kind of person I want to be. Thanks to Coach Hatch, I smoothly transitioned out of a job in a way that made me proud. He also supported my decision to get a master’s degree and buy my dream car.  Life is full of difficult choices, and Coach Hatch’s empathy and guidance enabled me to confidently make resonant choices. An investment in Coach Hatch is an investment in your future self!"
-Ethan (Denver, CO)
"There are times when ‘too much of a good thing is too much and needs a new order that one cannot initiate alone. Hatch’s gentle, yet skillful guidance tweaked my process. He offered me insightful questions and thoughts. The outcome: a creative path that includes ‘all my good things’ and a respectful long-term friendship. My professional business is taking shape, as are my creative interests. Thank you, Coach Hatch. I’ll see you again next level up!"  -Gina (Watertown, MA)

"Working with Coach Hatch was a remarkable catalyst in my pursuit of expanding my career horizons. Coupled with his guidance and expertise, I clarified the log jams which kept me from moving forward, and he shared with me the tools to navigate toward what and where I intended to go. Anyone who desires to change and grow would be fortunate and wise to work with Coach Hatch."
-Constance (Burlington, VT)
"I very much enjoyed working with Coach Hatch. There was a click from the first 5 minutes we talked thru the end of the coaching sessions. We dug deep into my values and identified what was important to me in my next job; I also figured out what worked well and what didn't. I recognized my saboteur and discovered what real "doing" looked like and which activities do not contribute to landing that job offer.

The job search became more positive and exciting, and I restored faith and trust in myself. Working with Andy taught me that what I was going through wasn't abnormal, helping me understand that only I can change the course of my search with concrete action items.

I loved that Coach was always available, and I felt re-energized every time we spoke, whether it was a formal coaching session or a brief "laser" call. Lastly, overcoming the job search hurdles increased my confidence in reaching other (personal) goals in my life. Even though those secondary goals were not the reason I sought coaching, Coach Hatch's support helped me do so much more than land a job offer. Working with Coach Hatch was about changing my mindset, silencing my saboteur, and restoring faith in my capabilities." -Bart (Westwood, MA)
"Before starting this journey with Coach Hatch, I felt confused, lost, depressed, and unfulfilled. I struggled with how to cope with my emotions and channel them into helping me become a better person, friend, co-worker, and partner. My confidence suffered.

Coach Hatch helped me identify the areas I needed to focus on to become the best person possible in my personal life and at work. This process was eye-opening for me! It helped me uncover roadblocks to my personal growth with exercises to help me tackle them. Those exercises were beneficial to see the values most important to me and the areas I needed to focus on to help me change and grow.

Working with Coach Hatch, I regained my confidence, a primary goal. Aspiring to take over my family business someday, I felt like I needed to become a better leader at work. Coach Hatch helped me see the bigger picture and encouraged me to take advantage (and held me accountable) of opportunities to showcase me as a leader for the company.

Another goal was to be more social. I am a homebody at heart, but coaching helped me start saying "yes" to doing more things with my friends and family.

My last goal was weight loss. After being laid up for three months with a foot injury this past spring, it was difficult to get onto the scale and see how much weight I had gained! Coach Hatch helped me get focused. We created an accountability checklist to keep me on track and celebrate my progress (I have lost almost 20 pounds!).

Overall, this has been a remarkable experience for me. Coaching has opened my eyes to what I can accomplish when I put my mind to it. It changed the way that I think and go about my life. As a result, I am more confident in both the workplace and my social life. I have a path to a healthier lifestyle. I will take all the things I have learned from Coach Hatch and use them and continue becoming the best person I can be." -Ethan (Milton, VT)
"Several months ago, as an 80+-year-old widower and prostate cancer patient, I was having difficulty making decisions. I felt more than a little overwhelmed by the many items on my to-do list. The list kept increasing, and my time to enjoy life seemed to be shrinking.Lucky for me, I met Coach Hatch, and after a few casual conversations, signed up for a series of his coaching sessions.

Not knowing what to expect, I was pleased to find his skill and knowledge made it easy for me to discuss my personal situation, and I found his methods were beneficial.  After four meetings, I felt his techniques and coaching education had enabled me to come away with new ideas and ways of improving my activities. I feel that my progress will continue, and I know that I can call on Coach Hatch for assistance if needed in the future."  -Bruce (Shelburne, VT)
